COP29 | IDEAS Partners with UN ESCAP, IDEAS Helps Asia-Pacific Youth for Energy Empowerment Collaboration Program

On November 15th, at the BRICS IDEAS Pavilion in the Green Zone of COP29, BRICS IDEAS LDEES, together with ESCAP, BRICS YEA and Youth for Energy Southeast Asia (Y4E SEA), organized a dialogue on the theme “Asia-Pacific Youth Energy Empowerment Cooperation: ESCAP and Youth Partnerships”, to promote the development of the Asia-Pacific Youth Energy Empowerment Cooperation. ESCAP, BRICS YEA, and Youth for Energy Southeast Asia (Y4E SEA) jointly organized a dialogue on the theme of “Asia-Pacific Youth Energy Empowerment Cooperation: ESCAP and Youth Partnerships”, which is an important platform to promote regional youth participation in climate and energy actions. BRICS IDEAS LDEES representative Xie Zongxu was interviewed by Azerbaijan State Television, stating that forming an inclusive and stable forum is important to engage local communities and youth. By bringing together people from different backgrounds to discuss COP29, a bridge was built between youth and governments around the world.

BRICS IDEAS LDEES is dedicated to exploring the intersection between digital innovation, ecological civilization and sustainable development, and is actively adopting artificial intelligence technologies and digital tools to promote new approaches to ecological conservation and sustainable development. This initiative is closely linked to the development philosophy of the Global South and aims to empower local communities in climate change response. BRICS IDEAS LDEES is deeply collaborating with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Indigenous Peoples and Minorities Research Program, and is committed to enhancing multiple perspectives and pathways for ecological civilization. As COP30 is about to be held in Brazil next year, BRICS IDEAS LDEES will continue to promote global sustainable development efforts and convey the concept of convergence of ecological civilization, digital innovation and green governance to address the growing challenges of climate change.
