Experts of IDEAS were invited to participate in the China-India Dialogue: Perspectives on Trade, Economy and Multilateral Cooperation

“The China-India Dialogue: Prospects for Economic, Trade and Multilateral Cooperation” was held on December 18, 2023 at the Qianhai Institute of International Affairs, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). The event aimed to discuss the current state of China-India economic and trade relations, challenges, and prospects for future cooperation. Lu Yang, Contributing Researcher of IDEAS and Researcher of the Institute of Belt and Road Strategy at Tsinghua University, as the organizer of the event, moderated a number of sessions of the event. During the moderation, she emphasized that China and India are the two most populous countries in the world, and the stability of China-India relations is crucial for the prosperity and peace of Asia and the world. In addition, Researcher Shameem Nawber, Head of Middle East/South Asia Orientation at the Policy Research Office of the China-Russia Center, was also invited to participate in this event.
This China-India Dialogue activity in the future, especially in the post epidemic period of the dialogue between the two sides and the development of good neighborly relations pointed out the direction for China-India economic and trade cooperation to lay a solid foundation. The two countries should join hands to realize mutual benefits and make positive contributions to the prosperity and peace of Asia and the world.

In response to the call for papers for the theme collection of “Sovereign Artificial Intelligence and Digital Sovereignty” under the journal AI & Innovation (AI2), and with the aim of strengthening both the academic rigor and regional diversity of the forthcoming publication, the Institute for Digital Economy and Artificial Systems (IDEAS-BRICS) and the Global South Research Center of East China Normal University (China) have jointly decided to launch a four-month series of offline and online seminars as the primary academic platform supporting this theme collection. The first session (Asia-focused) was held successfully on March 20. The next session will focus on Eurasia.
