IDEAS was invited to attend the international forum “2023 Russia Energy Week”.

Mekhri and Yu Xiao, experts of IDEAS, were invited to attend the international forum “2023 Russia Energy Week”.
The “Russia Energy Week” international forum was initiated and organized by Russia in 2017, mainly focusing on global energy issues. At present, energy cooperation between China and Russia is at an unprecedentedly high level, and China and Russia are paying close attention to the prospects of cooperation in the energy sector. At the forum, Mekhri, an expert from IDEAS, said that addressing global energy challenges should focus not only on exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia, but also on exchanges and interactions among all BRICS countries. To strengthen exchanges and cooperation, Russia has now set up a strategic cooperation base in Fujian, China, namely the China-Russia Research Center for Digital Economy.
On the issue of energy use, Yu Xiao, an expert from IDEAS, suggested introducing more competitive new technologies in the sector to promote the “greening” of energy. He also noted that digitization could be the key to achieving this goal.
